PTA Christmas Shopping Trip to Worcester

This year the PTA have arranged a shopping trip to Worcester on Saturday 24th November 2012. The bus will leave Treherbert at 8.00 a,m and we aim to leave Worcester around 5.30 p.m. and are normally home around 8 00 p.m. depending on traffic. Seats cost £12. 50 Unfortunately the trip is not suitable for children. For further details please contact Becky Sims on 01443 431395

Christmas Shoebox appeal

This year, in conjunction with our friends at Mount Zion Chapel, we are participating in the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box appeal.

This is what is required -

YOU wrap an empty MEDIUM sized shoebox and fill it with great little gifts.

Suggested items include:-
TOYS.
Bear, soft toy, finger puppet, jigsaw, yo-yo, building blocks, small musical instruments, cars, dolls etc.

EDUCATION SUPPLIES
pens, pencils, felt pens, pencil sharpeners, erasers, colouring books, notepads etc.

OTHER ITEMS.
gloves, hat, scarf, sunglasses, bangles, necklaces.

Please will you NOT include any of the Following

NO MEDICNES
NO FOOD
NO WAR RELATED ITEMS
NO FRAGILE ITEMS
NO LIQUIDS
NO DANGEROUS ITEMS

Please will you also donate £2.50 towards the shipping costs.

Our School has been designated as a DROP OFF POINT and you are able to deposit the shoeboxes at any time between November 5th and 18th.

Autumn Half term holiday

School closes for the half term vacation after school on Friday 26th October and reopens on Monday November 5th. Breakfast Club will be open as usual at 8.00. a.m.

“Dare to wear it pink “Day – Supporting Breast Cancer awareness

Wear it pink is the biggest and best pink day during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, Breast Cancer Campaign is daring everyone in the UK to wear an item of pink on Friday 26th October and donate any spare change that you have to the charity to help us beat breast cancer. Children will be undertaking some activities during the day. Some of the activities can be seen on the "wear it pink website" at http://www.wearitpink.co.uk/ We will be taking loads of photographs during the day and class activities will be posted on the blog and an article sent to the Rhondda Leader.

Ugly Bugs Ball

We will be holding our Ugly Bugs Ball on Wednesday 24th October. The Disco will take place in the school hall from 3.20 – 4.20 p.m. for Nursery, Reception, Year One and Two pupils. The younger children MUST be accompanied by an adult. The disco for the Juniors will be from 4.30 – 5.30 p.m. You can dress your child up as an Ugly Bug. An entrance fee of £1 per child will be charged. There will be food available, some party games. Proceeds from the evening will go to purchase equipment for the pupils.
